'Star Trek 2' Will Focus on a Classic Character
'Star Trek 2' Won't Feature Khan, but Focuses on a Classic Character

A new talk about possible villain for "" sequel has surfaced. Badass Digest (via Collider) claims an informant placed close to the production of the upcoming movie tells them that Khan Noonien Singh will not be the villain in the upcoming movie.

The site additionally reports that the story will focus on a "classic" character, like "a character who appeared in season one of the original series, when Gene Roddenberry was in charge." Giving more hints, the source says, "Think along the lines of Harry Mudd or Trelane or Gary Mitchell or the Talosians or the Horta. Actually it's one of those that I named."

If the source is indeed reliable, then one of the mentioned characters could be expected appearing in the still . However, the source has noted that until the script is turned in anything could change.

This second "Star Trek" film is already plotted to come out in theaters across the nation on June 29, 2012, but J.J. Abrams has not yet signed up to take the director's seat once again. Meanwhile, and may return as Montgomery Scott and Captain Christopher Pike respectively.
